The College wanted a new sports hall, plus associated teaching spaces, designed to the latest, most efficient standards.
We designed/specified the M&E systems and undertook dynamic simulation modelling examining the passive design possibilities for keeping the hall cool in summer.
Our input influenced the design of the opaque panelling which brought in natural light. Passive ventilation inlets were positioned above “shuttlecock” height with mixed mode ventilation units positioned at roof level, to give significant airflow without disturbing sporting activities.
